We have a black labrador caledd Ellie. She is 6 years old and has generally been in good health. About 4 months ago we noticed that in one of her eyes part of it had a grey shadow. After taking her to the vets he prescibed antibiotics, injection and tablets. Sometimes her eye seems to have improved but it always reverts back. We have visited the vets four times in all and every time he has prescibed antibiotics - could anyone shed any light on this

Is it a greying of the pupil area as one of my parents' dogs (a westie) developed that problem?
He was diagnosed with 'dry eye', whereby he doesn't produce enough tears from the tear duct in one eye and is now on some sort of drug for the rest of his life. The vet gave him a test where he puts some paper on his eye lid and makes him close his eye and then he could see how many tears were being produced.
