Honestly, forget about what other Labs look like. I have seen full grown Labs as small as 40lbs and as large as 100lbs. No two Labs are exactly the same. Weight depends partly on genetics (I'll guess that, because of his size, your boy is a show type?) but is mostly down to factors like food, exercise, etc.

If you can feel his ribs easily but not see them he is a good weight. He is just a big boy. You will probably find that his growth rate slows down quite dramatically now.

My lab is 70lb!
He is definitely not fat. I can still feel his ribs and can see a definite waistline too. He gets plenty of exercise.
Like people, dogs come in all shapes and sizes. Some bigger, some smaller, some lighter, some heavier.
I wouldn't worry about the weight of other dogs, as long as your dog is healthy thats all that really matters.

As the others have said I do the rib/feel test and look at the waistline and Majic is fine she is nearly 10 months and 24kg but she is definately working line as she is very lean.

Your lab is probably show background and they tend to be heavier and stockier.
