Hi,
My Gran lost her eleven year old dog yesterday - very suddenly and sadly. I know this is early days, but we would love to offer a rescue lab a good home.
Gran lives next door to my Mum and Dad in lovely dog-friendly countryside. She has a huge garden, with securely fenced orchard etc. At the moment, she looks after my lab (Finn, 8 months), Mum and Dad's lab and JRT 'adoptee' in the daytime - so there is no problem of her not being able to manage another dog. (Our dogs get a minimum of three walks a day, in addition to being free to come in and out of house and garden.) However, she would rather an adult dog and would like to offer a rescue a home as her previous dog was also rescue. Luc was a cross-breed, but Gran has always wanted a lab of her own.
Obviously, this is not something we want to rush into, but it would give her some comfort to think that wheels were in motion towards her having another dog sometime in the future.
Basically, I am after suggestions as to where to go next - we live in the Wye Valley/Forest of Dean and I wondered if someone could post some links/contact details - I've found the Lab Trust contact and wondered if anyone had any experience of rehoming through them or what others would suggest.
Any help received with thanks,
Jodie.

Thank you for responding so quickly - the labs all look lovely - their stories are so sad.
I don't think we fit in the catchment area for SEC Labs though sadly.
