Conformation and Movement Seminars

Hello

Maybe some one can help. I show as a handler for someone else at the moment, while my own pups get big enough, but was wondering whether going to any seminars would help me understand the dog better in and out of the ring, and what the judge looks for.

What sorts of these seminars should I think of going for.

Conformation and movement seminars are always interesting. They will help you to understand exactly what the judge is looking for, and if you give it some thought then you will start to see how to position your dog to it's best advantage. There are some wonderful videos which usually are shown to demonstrate movement, the "Dog Steps" video is a usual and after watching it you will never watch a moving dog the same way again! Usually there will be a selection of dogs present, each demonstrating a different fault so you can get "Hands On" experience of a particular fault. Over angulations, under angulated, long second thigh, Straight shoulders flat shoulders, stand one fault beside a dog with the opposite fault and you can learn a lot!
