Thanks all!

I wimped out of sticking her in the bath! A couple of warm water bowls and neat fairy liquid has seemed to do the job! Very Happy Don't know why I didn't think to use warm water first Rolling Eyes We are now both well and truly sick of being wet! Good job it's been a warm day to dry us off!

I went up to have a nosy at what she rolled in and yes sure enough it looked like someone had used some green plant stuff to clean oil off some vehicle or the vehicle had leaked and green stuff had been laid over it to soak it up Rolling Eyes

A strange thing to choose to roll in Loon!!!! I MUCH prefer horse poop!!!
And yes I did tempt fate with that post yesterday!!!! Laughing

Dont know how you are getting on but this is what I would do:

STEP ONE
swarfega OR fairy liquid with salt and sugar!! (salt to absorb the oil and sugar to lift). squirt fariy liquid into a bowl and pour salt and sugar into and mix. This goo needs a good stir, then really rub it in to her coat and then rinse out. and rinse again

Then once you have got the oil out with the swarfega or homemade version of, you MUST then wash out the swarfega.

STEP TWO
So the second trip to the bathroom/shower is to wash with baby shampoo.
(rinsing all soap thoroughly as you would with usual washing of a dog).

It is VERY important to be sure she hasnt licked any of the oil. Check inside her mouth and make sure she is drinking.

Keep an eye on the colour of her gums just as a precaution. (it is unlikely that she has absorbed some but just be CERTAIN!) her gums should be a lovely pink. If you have all black gums then pull down her eyelids to reveal the mucus membrane. This should also be a good pink!

I imagine you are rather wet and have a damp luna next to you. If you can smell any residue of the oil then go for the salt/sugar and fairy liquid combination! (if you dont have the swarfega).

hth a bit
Heidi
