We are considering a holiday in North Devon area later this year. Does anyone have any recommendations for a quiet caravan site which will allow 5 dogs? Ideally with direct access to safe, off lead dog walking area.

Many thanks

Katy

Have a look at campsites in the Porlock area (technically Somerset but only just) it is on the edge of exmoor so loads of walking to be done and some beaches in the area are dog friendly.

We normally stay at the Porlock camping and caravanning site, it's very clean tidy and quite. They are a bit obsessional about cleanliness to the point that there are signs about everything but i'd rather have lots of rules and have spotless facilities TBH.
They have a very small dog walking area that allows dogs off lead. I wouldn't say it was a walk it's a couple of hundred yards about 6 foot wide but it's ideal for early morning and late night ablutions. Laughing and anyway who needs loads of space on site when you are out alday exploring exmoor.

Not sure how many dogs they allow we obviously only ever ask about taking our 2. But if they don't allow it there are quite a few others in the area. We went to a site called Burrowhayes in Porlock for some house riding as they have a stables on site and there seemed to be dogs everywhere there, although the site itself seemed much busier so maybe not what your looking for.

Enjoy whatever you find, we love it around there and usually spend 4 or 5 weekends there each year atleast, as it's only an hour or so from us.

We've stayed here before (without dogs I add) but they do take dogs and we are looking to go back with Theo, they have an exercise field which then joins onto footpaths which go for miles! (some are coastal paths though) Not sure how many dogs they take but it says well behaved on leads are fine on site and then offlead in the exercise area.

try Golden Coast at Woolacombe. There are 4 sites, all connected by a free bus and you can choose whichever of the sites suits you best. Dolden coast is literally 3 mins from the beach.

Try this link. All the parks are dog friendly and so are some of the local pubs.
