I've recently got a Dogmatic in the hope that it will help make Molly's walks more pleasant (she hated the GenCon). She seems to be happier whilst out on the walk although she clearly doesn't like it but that might just be because she still associate it with the GenCon.
My issue is that the strip that goes under her chin (where the ring that you fasten the lead clip to sits) keeps going in her mouth. This generally happens when Molly is behind me and so I'm gently leading her. It also seems to happen when she does her collar strop (rubs her face on the ground to get it off). I'm not sure if it slips over her chin at other points but at least twice per walk I have to readjust.
also, it is more restrictive than the GenCon was and whereas she can hold a soft toy in her mouth (I use this to distract her when she gets frustrated) she can't open her mouth completely and sometimes struggle to get a grip aruond the toy.
She is using size 2 as the size 3 I originally ordered was huge on her. It seems to be a good fit everywhere else.
does this sound normal - should I just wait until she gets used to it and hopefully leave the bit under her chin alone?
Other than that it's brilliant. The second I put it on her she started walking next to me on a loose lead and she has not even attempted to pull.
Any advice would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
