Hi all
I am new to the forum and am after some advice!
We have a rehoming visit on Thursday for a lovely 8-year-old black labrador. She is very chilled and doesn't pull or react to other dogs, so we are hoping that she will not chase our two cats so we can bring her home on Saturday.
We were wondering if anyone has any tips for their first encounter? We have a small house and no doors downstairs.
Also, anything we should get her to settle her in? We have bought her some treats, a clicker and a large Kong toy, but are there any other toys she might like?
She has mammary tumors but the vets are operating this week and hoping that she will fully recover.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here. Fingers crossed we will have a new doggie next weekend and I will share the pics if it all works out!

Hope your home visit will go well. Good for you rescuing an Oldie. Sounds like you are already well prepared. I had a dog who had a mammary strip and she was fine.
Looking forward to seeing some piccies.

Welcome and good luck with the home visit.
As far as intros to the cats, I would put a baby gate across where the cats like to sleep so they have a bolt hole, don't force intros, just manage them, it normaly ends up with a few scuffles but after a week or so things tend to settle down.
My cats live mostly upstairs and are perfectly happy with that arrangement, the dogs visit occasionally
