I have heard that any type of potato is toxic to a dog. I don't know if this is true as Stormy has had potatoes before I knew this and he never had any probs.

karen was just reading through that link and they have this

Raw Eggs:

Contain an enzyme called avidin, which decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin). This can lead to skin and hair coat problems. Raw eggs may also contain Salmonella.

yet people on here feed raw eggs to their dogs.

so confusing Embarassed

Which is why we don`t have them raw (yuck!), but dogs have a much stronger digestive system than we do, hence being able to feed them bones and raw foods that our stomachs would reject (if we ate them in the first place Very Happy ).

One or two eggs a week should do no harm to the dog and give him/her the shell as well, for the calcium Very Happy

This is probably gonna sound dumb, but if the egg had salmonella/lysteria, would the dog become ill?

I'm guessing that salmonella poisoning is rare because lots of people feed their dog's raw eggs without any bother.
However, there must be some risk involved in doing this for it to be listed as a dog food no no? Confused
Surely dogs are not immune to salmonella???????? Confused
I'm still confused, although I know it doesn't take a lot with me!LOL Wink
