i am currently feeding both mylo & mambo pedigree complete sensitive (from pah) due to mambos very sensitive tummy ive tried a few different varieties of dried food but everything else seems to go straight through him & he cant have canned food atall as it really makes him ill but the animal testing thing really niggles in my brain every time i feed them i feel so guilty but as i said its the only thing i have managed to find that dosent make him ill when we got mylo he hadnt really had a feeding routine & was underweight (hes only been here 3wks) hes put on weight & couldnt wait for feed times (hes fed twice a day) untill wed he looked at the food then at me he did eat eventaually but not with any enthusiasm i think maybe hes gone off the pedigree????????? so i need suggestions for animal friendly dried food that wont upset mambo that u can get in different flavours to mylo interested n also being on my own with 5 kids 2 dogs cost is a big issue obviously i know this is a tall order n if i have to i will pay the extra to ease my concience & keep both dogs happy!!!!!!!!! but i dont really want to buy different food for each dog any suggestions??????????

Have you tried Burns

http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/index.htm

If you email or phone them they will send you samples for you to try.

There is also Autarky which is cheaper than Burns but from what peopl have said on here it is just as good and BUAV approved as is Buns and both are holistic feeds.

http://www.csjk9.com/productcart/pc/viewCat_P.asp?idCatego ry=9

I think if you phone these they will send you samples only.

Regarding sensitive stomachs Majic could not get on with Burns chicken and rice but was fin with Lamb & rice, I know Autarky has chicken in it also.

HTH

I would definitely recommend Autarkys. Good food, good price, not tested and has no additives etc either.
I know a lot of people on here feed burns, but personally, i think its to expensive for what it is. But like i say, thats my opinion.
Autarkys is a good price at around £15 for a 15kg bag!

Thats the link if your interested in trying it. Hope this helps a little.

I moved to Autarky for Willow as she's not fussy. She used to get nutro- double the price, but would go beack to that if I see ant changes in the next month or two as its Willows first month or 2 on Autarky.

Jet went off nutro - dodgy tummy and refusing - went onto chappie for ages and eventually went off it about the same time as I found out its on the 'hit list' He wont eat dried food had his teeth and mouth checked out but no problems found, I have often had to resort to fish/chicken/eggs and pasta/rice.
He at the moment (whisper so he cant hear me Embarassed )seems to like the nature diet tripe and chicken which is strange as he doent normally eat dog food chicken anything- but keep it betwen you and me!! Shhhh Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Embarassed

He also likes the fish one but it has been almost impossible to get hold of.

Sorry not much help, fussy dogs Rolling Eyes Jet would rather go without than eat some of the dog foods we have got him to try- we've wet them, flavoured them hand fed them, pretended its our food. SAD is what I think0- but I hate it when he wont eat.

i emailed both & asked for samples so i will try them both im tempted to switch to Autarky as it seems good & is very reasonably priced!! the only thing that bothers me is there dosent seem to be much of a range thats fine if mylo dosent get bored!!! & the flavoring is there any meat flavour to it?any meat product in it?? burns have more of a variety & i could swich flavours if mylo got bored the only thing that puts me off is the price (sorry if i sound like scrooge!!!)

well i tried that n mambo has had runny poos for 4 days so ive gone bk to the pedigree its so frustrating trying to find something that will agree mylo was fine but i really dont want to be feeding them 2 different foods im pretty sure it was the burns that upset him i gave him normal food yesterday n hes fine again now i really dont know wot else to do i dont want to stay on pedigree i feel guilty every time i feed them time to try Autarky i think should i give mambos tummy time to settle again berfore trying again n is my constant trial n error harming him in any way??
