From what i can see in that pic Brook looks ok for size, but can`t see her body very well, does she have a waist?, and when you feel along her sides can you feel her ribs without having to press hard?.

If the answer to both of these is yes, then she`s probably ok, I`m assuming you had her weighed at the vets?, I`m sure they`d have said if they thought she was overweight.

Dogs are like us, they come in all shapes and sizes, I don`t think Chocs are any different in size to a yellow or black, except maybe in height, have to say CJ seems taller than most blacks I`ve seen but I wouldn`t say he`s chunkier than them.

Hi there Jesstiggs i can still feel her ribs through loose skin no real fat under there she does have a waist but i think it could be slowly dissapearing Laughing i am feeding her the recommended amount by the food label im just worrying a bit as having her spayed in a couple of months and i know the vet likes to keep them slim i did go to the vets but it was the receptionist that weighed her. I will keep a close eye on her and keep her treats to a minimum its hard though because i do like to spoil her Wink

How many meals a day is she on?, should be 3 or maybe 2 now, if you think the amount of food she`s having is too much you can reduce each meal by a handful or two and see how she does with that.

Of course not being able to exercise her to much doesn`t help, but keeping her joints safe is more important, once she can exercise more you`ll see the weight come off to be replaced by muscle, this of course weighs more than fat!, but she`ll look slim or should do Smile

Are you going to the GT this year?, will be able to see how she looks there Smile

Hi Brook

Maggie is 18 weeks now and I got her weighed at the vets this morning.
She was 15 kilos which the vet said was just right so it sounds like Brook's weight is fine.

Regards Di x
