Amber is putting on weight too carroll, but she needed to as she has always been a bit anorexic looking! Another few weeks and I might have to cut her back to 2 percent though...keep forgetting to take RMBs out of the freezer - she had a smoothie for breakfast today..doh!

Right- Enid has always been a bugger for food, she is sooo fussy. I thought she was settled on Burns but now she refuses to eat it at all. After reading all the useful advice on here about BARF I am sure it would suit her much better. She loves meat (Although she gets it cooked at the moment)and she has tried chicken wings and raw eggs.

Today I managed to get hold of a Marrow bone and oh my God!!! she adores it Shocked She hasn't left it for two hours, not even when we were eating (First time EVER!!) She also has a chicken leg waiting for her dinner. She keeps bringing the bone into kitchen so we will chase her back into the garden!! Laughing

I've found a friendly butcher who is very cheap so I think I am ready to make the leap. However, I have a few questions which I was hoping one of you helpful people could help me with:

- When we picked Enid up her breeder old us she shold NEVER be given Pork or Liver. I don't know why she said it, as other labs eat it .Any ideas? Plus is raw pork safe? I though it gave dogs worms?

- Enid has had diarrhoea whenever she has been given lamb based dry food. Would raw lamb still cause this? She also had diarrhoea when we gave her tripe as a little puppy and when she has had tripe based snacks.

- Can she still have Cheese? She adores it and has shown no sign of lactose intolerence

- I take it Vegetables are given to them raw?

- How much to feed her has me stumped, even after looking at the instructions here. She is 8 months and weighs between 19-20 Kg and very active!

Sorry to be a pain but I just want to make sure I don't go wrong Embarassed

finally. have got through all 18 pages lol. and at the same time, got myself a freezer for free off freecycle - great place Smile picking it up tomorrow. for now we are going to keep bailey on combined burns and raw diet, as we want him to have burns when we r away as it is more pactical. he gets mince for one meal a day now, and we bought him some chicken wings yesterday, so will see how he goes with them later. how many should he have for a meal? he is nearly 13 weeks old

I have to say we have been on BARF for about a year now and it is the best decision I have ever made. My fatter lab has lost 1/2 stone in weight and my little skinny girl that used to have problems keeping on her weight has steadied out to look fine. Teeth look fab too not a sign of plaque!
