We need to change Baileys food, we are currently on Bakers for puppys, but the OH and I feel we need to change this, Baileys poop's have never been a majour problem but they do go from very runny to sloppy' and feel they are not really how they should be. Also there is the animal testing thing.... so really the OH asked me to see what the majority of you are feeding your pups... I think we are thinking of Burns, (although our PAH DONT stock it!!)

Thanks guys x

Marinda

Hi

I think that majority of people on LF seem to feed their dogs burns, which does seem very good.

However, I had to take my pup off of Burns because I was feeding her over twice the recommended daily amount, and she was still losing weight. I also know of others who have had to take them off of it due to other health reasons eg. tired, upset tummys etc.

BUT, all pups are different, so yours may be fine on it, and lots of people do seem to think that it is good. I will trying again with Burns once she is older and fully grown.

I am sure others will be along soon to give you their opinion of Burns and other foods.

Burns is a good food, but personally, i think its to expensive for what it is....a dog food.
There are other excellent foods which aren't tested on animals which are much more reasonable in price.
Thats my opinion anyway.
I feed Autarkys, very good price, not tested on animals and has no additives etc etc..

We feed Tilly on Nutro Puppy for larger breeds. This is what the breeder had her on and it seems to suit her fine, her poos are good formed slightly darkened potato croquettes as my brother described them!

Also it is one of the brands that has glucosamine and chondroitin in it so it's good for her joints, although it is quite expensive, however our local pet food store stocks it so it is also handy.

x

Charlie is fed on Burns (Lamb and Brown Rice) and it seems to suit him well. Personally I am finding that although it is pricey it works out quite well, because I don't seem to be feeding him as much of it. He absolutely loves it too. His no. 2s have firmed up enormously and can now be picked up or scooped up without leaving smears behind (sorry Embarassed ).

Autarky does sound worth considering too.

Helen.

I feed Tazz on Wafcol, and she is doing really well on it. Her coat is fantastic, and her bowel movements are as they should be lol.

Its not cheap though.

I looked at this and it is much cheaper than what we currently buy. I just am really hesistant to change food just for a cost reason when what she is on seems to suit her. We may of course have to look at the cost element a little later down the line when we are totally brassic from all the other things we have had to buy her!!
