I always give Bonios at about 9pm, but if I am going to check to cupboard where the new bag is heads all come up and 3 pairs of eyes follow me, if I just walk away them there is a collective sigh.
At any time from 8.45 the deputation is sent, in the form of Gypsy, to bark at me, ignore that and Mambo and Skittle join Gypsy sitting in a semicircle round me At that point I give in!!

It works both ways - Coll sometimes makes himself comfy on my spot on the sofa - the word shift has never worked (he hunkers down and pretends he doesn't understand) so I just say "who's that" and he moves off and goes to look out the window.

We had exactly the same with Nala and there "where's...?" - with that word she was instantly at the window.
I remember telling Nero once he was getting fat, and he went looking for the cat at the window.
Hubby and I use the word "Klaw" to each other when saying shall we take them for a walk (it's walk backwards) but only use the Walk word once we've agreed we're going so they never cottoned on to that. Could never get to the walk word usually though, only had to say "Do you..." and they were off!

Oh dear I always thought that Brodie was a bit daft and now after reading this thread it prooves it
He always lies on the sofa after his tea head on his favourite cushion and he looks at me and says " you know I've been fed cause I'm sat here watching Emmerdale, you can sit down and relax but please don't move me from my favourite place on the sofa, oh and I'm snuggling with your slippers so you can't have them back yet, is that ok? And I reply with....oh your such a sweetie

If I say "is it time?" my two instantly knowmI am talking about tea time for them! They also know "are you hungry?" (stupid question! Lol) " Do you want your dinner?" "Would you like a chewie?"
We could never say any words ending with 'at' for the same reasons that have already been posted by other LF'rs lol
If I doze off anywhere near 4pm, Boo wakes me up by licking my nose to tell me it's time to get their tea!
If someone rings me, as soon as I say goodbye, they think something is going to happen and spring into action!
