I hope it's ok to post this, please feel free to remove if not.
They are English setters not labs.
But I know there are a few people on here who live in France....... it's a long shot but they may have contacts in the 31 area specifically
St Gaudens/Cazeres/Aurignac/Le Fousseret
This link is to the french equivalent of our Dogslost site
If anybody has any contacts in the area could you please repost for me, the dogs belong to very good friends.
They have been missing since yesterday morning. It's snowing and very cold and I am trying to do my bit to help.
Nic, I've shared on Facebook. Got a couple of expat friends locally who I know have a LOT more friends in the Aurignac area so I hope they will see and pass on.
I'm currently snowed in. The road outside is like an ice rink and we've not even had a single car or lorry or tractor past for at least 36 hours. No binmen and no tractors and you know it's bad.
Sorry only just seen this. Sadly no news as yet, no reported sighting either, they were last seen at about 9.15am Thursday.
The cold and snow aren't helping as no one is really out and about.
Will post if I hear anything
Thanks
Nic x
A couple of people on my facebook friends list have crossposted for me as they either live or have property in France. I don't know what these sites are, but apparently the dogs are listed on Total France, The France Forum and Hobos in France too (not sure if the owner put them on or someone else).
They are really the main French forums where it's likely to get to people who live in that area. I belong to two others but I know for sure there is no-one else in the Midi Pyrenees, certainly not in the vicinity anyway.
Hope that someone -maybe without internet access- has taken these dogs in so they are safe and warm until they can get the word out to alert/search for their owners.
The owners must be so worried. Thinking of them and hoping for the best x
They were spotted 15 miles away in woods by a couple who had seen a poster. They, in turn, got it touch with a local chasseur (hunter) who went and picked them up and took them home!! Jack is limping and his tail bleeding but otherwise they seem to have survived their 2 days on the run in the freezing cold and snow!
Nicola (Maddie) they were picked up the other side of Cassagnabere so had covered a fair distance!
What a wonderful outcome! Really pleased to read that these dogs have been found and can be reunited with their owners (I can only imagine what a worry it must have been) x
