I have John Lewis for both boys.
Great service, quick payments and a great range of cover.
Ive claimed around £7000 for Diesel and his is now about £30 a month.
Ive not claimed for Harry and it just increased due to the VAT rate going up to 20%

I'm with PetPlan, they are a bit pricey, but my vet claims directly from them so I don't need to pay the bill up front.
To add to that, I had only paid for 2 months when I lost Harry. The bill for Harry was nearly £2000 and they paid everything, apart from his cremation fees and the £75 excess. There was no change to my premium when I insured Bella and when I added Shadow and the cats, my premiums dropped.

Thank you all for your help.
We have ruled out M&S because of what has been said and the quote I recieved was for their lesser cover, they want too much for their top lifetime cover.
Thinking ahead, Petplan sound great from everyone's experiences and we will be getting another dog once Tiana has matured (in the lab sense of the word!) but they quoted £42/month. My OH said he won't pay that so maybe if Tiana hasn't developed any conditions when we get a second dog then petplan's multi discount might be a better option. But for now looks like John Lewis it is - they quoted £24/month for their top cover.
Thanks again

It would be worth you getting a quote from Direct Line too, I have always been happy with them and haven't found massive increases in the 3 years that I have renewed (only about £1 per month more each year). My vet deals direct with them so I only have to pay the excess and they have never quibbled over the amounts. They usually have some sort of incentive for the first year too.
