Just checked murphys weight, at 12 weeks he was 11.75kg he is now almost 15 weeks old and is at 17.2kg, he seems to be growing at a serious rate, I am feeding him on the recomemeded ammount of Orijen large breed puppy food twice a day. Starting to wonder if I should reduce his intake a bit or is there really no point in worrying about his weight at such a young age and just keep sticking to the same amount of food ?
The vet did say he was going to be a big dog but I maybe wasn't expecting him to be getting quite so big so soon.
EDIT: Forgot to add that I took him to a puppy training class and was chatting to another lab owner who had brought her 12 week old lab pup along and Murphy was nearly twice the size of it.
Can you still easily feel his ribs? If so he's just growing . Coal matched weeks old with kg in weight until he reached 20 weeks. So by then weighed 20kg and he's a lean lad so your boy sounds fine

Those weights don't seem to be too far out of the ball park. Is he show or working bred?
To give you a comparison, my working bred bitch pups have typically been about 10kg at 12 weeks, and 13-15kg at 17 weeks.
You will find that his growth rate slows anyway in a few weeks time.
Is there any reason you are using Large Breed puppy rather than normal puppy? I would use the standard pup food, although I have heard of some using the large breed. It shouldn't make a lot of difference though.

Both his parents were working dogs but looked like show bred if that makes sense they were more heavily set than other working labs I have seen. I emailed Orijen to ask what one I should be feeding him and they recommended the large breed.
Angus is working breed and at 13 weeks is 12kgs. We can still feel his ribs but he is quite stocky...not fat at all. He is growing so fast and he has massive paws. Our vet and everyone we meet say he is going to be massive.
Mahsa, 15 weeks, is 5.75KG as weighed last night at the vets. Who said she is doing well and is putting on weight. Obviously she's never going to be a 'massive' dog!

OMG! My pups weigh that when they leave me to go to their new homes at 7-8 weeks!
