We share our KINGSIZE bed and superkingsize quilt with Penny and our cat (who hogs my hot water bottle). I have had really bad sciatica and I daresay Pen has had a little something to do with that as she rolls on me in her quest for maximum comfort. However, I am a very poor sleeper, and sometimes when I am really struggling to sleep and I can't get comfy, that lick from Penny and the opportunity for a really good cuddle, makes it all worthwhile, and I nod off thinking how much I love my gorgeous girlie......so.... I just can't imagine bedtime without Pen.
My husband can never complain however because it was ALL his idea
I hope that Indi is fine, I too think she has probably missed being with her mum and dad, they soooo love their routine.

your photos are so sweet. My OH always said the dog would never be allowed upstairs but that has changed. Intitially we just didi occasionally and then he went in his crate just to keep him used to the idea of sleeping in a crate as you never know when you might need it next. But last night he was allowed to stay out of his crate and bless he slept on the floor most of teh night but eventually joined us on our double bed. Luckily I don't take up much space! We never let him before because he hogged the bed and snored, plus he constantly fidgeted. But last night he was so well behaved. Is nice to do every now and then. I am sure your husband won't mind while he is away. Sounds like you both need each other after all you have been through. Enjoy it.
