And let Indi upstairs and sleep on the bed with me! Our rules in our house is dogs arent allowed upstairs and certainly arent allowed on beds. Now Indi loves our bed and if we cannot find her she will be more than happy to take herself upstairs where we will find her on our bed!!! Anyway she came back from a friends and she hasnt been well. She is very lethargic and not her bouncy self at all. I took her to the vets to see what she weighed (She has put on 1kg in a week, despite the same amount of food as I measured and bagged it up, less treats and more exercise) and get her temp checked. It was all normal but the vet took some bloods and even she said there wasnt something right. She wasnt her usual bouncy self, her coat has gone matt and has doggy dandruff, she only gets this when she is poorly, and is on a major molt! So we go back for them today. In the meantime I caved as I needed it just as much I think and let her upstairs for the night and on the bed!!! I have to say it was THE best nights sleep I ever had. Despite several times in the night I woke up precariously perched on the side of the bed with no duvet and madam spread eagled across with all the duvet nestled round her so it meant I had to get up, walk around the bed and climb in the other side where there was space and duvet. She even cam up and curled up right at the top of the bed right by me so I could lie with my arm around her. Although it meant I furiously got licked everytime I moved! Her crazzzzyyyy disco leg - which she gets from her daddy, kept going along with the puppy barking! But I didnt care I just enjoyed having her in bed with me. Adam is going to go mad but I dont care because I slept REALLLY well. Indi still seems a little lethargic and im going to take it easy again with her today and take her for a little walk later on!
Here are some photos of my gorgeous little girl enjoying her special snuggles with her mummy!!!!
Dont make me get down mummy!
watching lee evans
too hot up with you mummy!
usual sleeping position but she didnt stay here for long, the bed was far to comfy to be contemplating sleeping on the floor!!
Snuggling up to my leg to sleep!!!I love my little angel in this one!
Awww lovely pics Hayley, I`m sure Adam won`t mind as Indi is keeping his side of the bed warm til he comes home , mind you you`ll have to retrain her off the bed in time for his homecoming otherwise he won`t be too happy , that or get a super kind size bed
I`ve heard that the dander usually occurs in dogs when they are stressed although I find it happens on CJ when he`s going into a big moult, same as you said about Indi.
It could be that she`s just settling back into her usual routine with you as your friend would probably have a different one that she`s grown accustomed too whil on her "hols" this last week or so.
Seb is only allowed upstairs when someone is with him (and then only if invited). On Sunday we'd been out with his brother and I think I kept them together too long and over done it. When we got home he was exhausted but couldn't settle. He kept wandering around the house crying and going in and out of his bed. My OH has his final uni assignment due this week and is stressed out enough with out a whining puppy wandering around so I thought if I went and lay on the bed to read he might settle, and sure enough he did.
Last night he came upstairs with me and ran straight into the bed room and jumped on to the bed. He obviously thinks that its a nice place to lie and get a cuddle so fancied doing it again. I don't think I'll be letting him back on there for a while.
I think our labs are crafty and often seem to get their own way in the end! We were NEVER going to allow the dogs upstairs or on the furniture, but it was just a matter of time until they wheedled their way into doing both! They haven't taken over the bed yet though, and I am digging my heels in firmly over that one.
It must be very comforting to have her there Hayley, although I suspect you may get fed up with hopping round to the other side after a while .
Indi is only following her daddy's instructions to look after you and keep you safe and who could resist thoses big brown eyes.
Ellie sleeps in our room in her bed until the alarm goes off or it is really cold..... the exception being is when OH is away she sleeps on his side of the bed and cuddles into me.
I know what you mean! If I'm feeling fragile and hubby's playing dungeons n dragons or something, I have recently started letting both dogs in bed. Milly takes her position at the bottom as hot water bottle, and Ivan tries to take the rest of the bed
I can't leave him in bed though because he does that turning and digging they do with their own beds, and I don't like having my torso and legs trampled and prodded as he tries to get comfy.

ahhh i love how you got out and in the other side instead of getting Indi to move what a spoilt girlie
I don't have the dogs upstairs so they've never been on my bed but when we go on holiday they can sleep where they like but Alfie is fine, he gets comfy and stays there but Billy OMG he's such a fidgit bum and if i move he's straight up licking my face all excited and then he bounces around on the bed... i tell him to lay down and he settles until the next time i move a finger or breathe
Alfie gets dandruffy when he moults too, hope she's back to normal soon x

I definitely think labs are far too clever and know when you will give in so they just keep trying until that point!!
We had a no bed/furniture rule before we got a dog and then I loved snuggling with Belle on the sofa so much that she was allowed on furniture and loved playing 'pinch the warm seat' whenever someone got up! Then when she became unwell I couldn't stand her being downstairs alone she came up on our bed and stayed there, I must say some of the loveliest moments I had with her were shared snuggling in bed
Tiana will be allowed on the sofa (no point in trying to deny that one) but we have got her a crate for the bedroom at night so hopefully she will learn to stay in her bed rather than ours! However we have just bought a super king bed so there is plenty of room......
There's no harm in letting our lovely labs comfort us when we need it most - especially at night! She looks very satisfied and comfy in the pics - I love the last one she looks so content and peaceful (and gorgeous!). I hope she is back to normal soon
