Amber and Millie are both ready to have updated ID discs. Amber this morning lost her microchip tag which was separate to the ID so will put it all on a new one. There seem to be so many on the internet. If anybody has any suggestions as to which site to use, this would be appreciated. Am also debating whether to just put our surname in preferene to dog's names along with mobile number.

Hi Gillian

It is a legal requirement to have the owners name and address including postcode on your dogs ID tag. You don't need to have the dogs name or a phone number Shocked.

Apparently it is a fine of up to £1000 if you don't comply.

Apart from that the world is you oyster for tags. Personally I prefer the red dingo ones, they are costly but fabulous quality Very Happy

don't have any sites to recommend as I just use the local pet shop Very Happy

I only put my mobile phone number and my home phone number on and I prefer to leave Dylan's name off as I was told it could help someone to take him if they know his name Confused

Indigo collar tags (can't remember the address but google it) - they make the tags that sit flat on the collar and do ones to fit either buckle or clasp collars. Not cheap but loads of space for loads of info, wear very well and can't get caught on anything.

I use the ones the collar slides through http://www.identitaguk.com/pettags/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=8#details as too many were disappearing during sumo matches.

I am not happy having my address info on display as in these days of sat nav, google etc it would be all to easy to bend down, stroke the dog and take note of a postcode and the number of a house that is obviously empty - so I get round that by having my name, house number and postcode on the reverse, so the tag has to be taken off the collar to view it (still legal!!) and on the display side is the Keepsafe phone number and reference, any medical info and a request that people use keepsafe because I will obviously be out looking for the dog and not sitting at home by the phone (and mobile reception can be hit and miss)

I also like the INDIGO that lay flat on the collar, very neat.

I do put Dogs name Rolling Eyes , Mobile and Home numbers and my Name. My Address is to long.

Not cheap, but there is a Canadian Company on internet that do similar for half the price, not sure the name you may find it googling.

Amber and Millie have matching collars but they have bed blankets to match their yellow shading, Amber the darker one. You think you're sad.... I have been known to change their blankets if my husband put them to bed with the wrong one, they get 'tucked in' every night Embarassed

Thank you everyone for their suggestions, will check them out Very Happy

Indigo Tags are great, say you heard from ESSW (English Springer Spaniel Welfare) and you might get a little off Wink

Another Indigo tags fan here.

Luna has 2 slid on - with her name, my name, address and mobile and Microchipped/Neutered note on one and 2nd has contact details for my parents on just in case.

These slide on flat collar versions can be kept on when competing at agility which is one of the reasons I go for!!!

They both have a dangly tag from polypettags that goes on when we are away from home. Says: 'On holiday', chipped and neutered and then my mobile number. They wear in addition to the slide on ones!
