I may be completely missreading the situation, but 3 pups went today and 2 last week. We now have 3 left. Trudy went in to them and rolled them over quite violently and seemed to be going for their bellies. The screams were awful and we removed her!! Later the pups were playing in the dining room going slightly mental around all that space for 3 of them and she did it again!!
Could she be distressed by the others going?? She is due to be spayed in2 weeks time and then off to her forever home, but am a little worried for the pups.

Sorry if this seems really crazy!!! Embarassed

I have no idea Marianne but it doesn`t sound right to me, maybe Trudy is just fed up with them.

Hope someone in the know will be along soon to advise.

You might be better off putting this on the breeding board as the breeders will be the best person to advise you.

As they don't need to be with her any more it might be better to keep them separated now, just in case there is a repeat performance.

Could you crate her while they are playing or put her in a different room?

Cant really help but Millie certainly would never have done that. I kept 2 and she has never lost the plot with them. My guess is that if they are screaming it is through fear which will in turn only frighten her too. I think to be safe its best to separate her from them unless you can get advice from someone like Di. I wish i could help.

I know in the wild if a Mother thinks her pups/cubs are under threat she will kill them perhaps she feels they are in danger as they are gradually all being removed.
