That's good news. Smile Sam had a very inflamed gut due to his medical problems and more regular meals definately helps too so if you could give him a lunchtime meal as well as keep up with the Zantac I bet that would help. Smile

I live fairly near Karen in Notts and we had loads of horrible slugs and snails at our last house - touch wood none here yet though - but I swapped to Advocate anyway just to be on the safe side.

Lungworm info http://www.lungworm.co.uk/scripts/pages/en/home.php and http://www.barrieranimalcareclinic.co.uk/lungworm.htm

Oh, that's interesting. Does Advocate prevent lungworm then? If so, they should be fine as both my dogs have never had anything but Advocate and, since we have had Ben from a puppy, that is four year's worth. He can't take any worming tablets as he allergic to them.

Pepto Bismol is fine and try that first and if it then stops use a two week wormer course i.e every four days for two weeks.
But if after Pepto no change get a scan.
With the pepto plenty of fluid lying around as it will of course take a lot of moisture out. If he will not drink water then boil an old chicken and use diluted chicken water.

What do you feed? Wet, Dry?

Sorry, bit confused by last post! He is taking Zantac and so far, so good. Don't think he has an issue with worms and cannot take wormer tablets anyway as he's allergic so has always had Advocate. I think someone just thought there may be a possibility of lungworm, but I think this is unlikely - he has been to the vets and I have spoken to them twice, so we think an inflamed tummy lining due to the metacam is the cuase.
