Thanks guys - I can't remember how Candy was as it was nearly 15 years ago when she was done as an emergency other than can't getting out of the vets quick enough and jumping on my knee which made us laugh.
Ellie is moving around quite nicely and has lost the wobbly legs she had yesterday. It might be time for the buster though as she is starting to pay too much attention to her bits. We have had some fresh air to the end of the drive and back she's kept down all the food she's been offered.
She is on the floor surrounded by her toys ans she can't make her mind up what to do.... but she isn't wanting a nap which means I need to stay awake.... argh

Not that I want to wish the day away but hubby can't get home soon enough for me as she does seem to pine a little less when he's around - perhaps I am still a bad mammy in her eyes and she's become yet another daddy's dog (all the other's ended that way).

It sounds like she is getting more back to her usual self. Hopefully by tonight you will be getting some rest yourself. I am not a huge fan of the collars personally as they seem to disorientate the dogs and also make them realise something is 'different', but I appreciate they may be needed. I have always gone for the tied t-shirt and not had problems and a much more comfortable girl. If however this does not ensure Ellie can be unsupervised and leave the stitches alone then you may have to use it. Perhaps wearing at night would suffice. (I really am a softy thinking about how comfy the dogs are)
Sending some quick-healing vibes for the patient Very Happy
