Millie officially hates me
I must be the worst mum in the world, cos Millie thinks it.
We had got all kitted up as it is freezing out. Millie and Amber both had their coats on, illuminated collars complete with flashy bits and I had the glow ball in my pocket.
We got to the field and I threw the ball for Millie..... it shot out of my hand, up vertical..... and landed on top of some 12 feet high conifers Millie looked at me in disbelief, crouched and ready to fly to retrieve it, but where was the ball I've tried shaking the trees, but they are too big, cant climb them and it was pitch black. I had no option but to watch the green flow fade, whilst firmly stuck on the top of the conifers.
I feel so so awful, Millie was staring at me in disbelief, she wanted to play glow ball in the dark, we always play with it in the dark at night. I am dreading 6 am and again no ball..... how can I appease her appealing, devastated little face.
I've emailed Pets at Home with a special request as they are all out of stock (I know because I like to have a reserve one, just in case, but this WAS THE RESERVE). I have now ordered, by express a different one from Amazon, and hoping it arrives soon.
I do hope it meets expectations. We have tried many different ones, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, too hard (hurts my teeth), two soft (punctured in less than a walk) or just right..... stuck on top of a huge conifer.....

trust me I do feel a real BAD mummy.
Cheryl - you know Amber too well and spot on. Incidentally she was busy scrounging for food in the bottom of the conifer

I know that look it is the same as 'the ball's gone down the badger hole, Laura! Dig it up!'
We checked that badger hole almost daily for almost a year before moving house and no ball returned out of it despite lots of bedding being cleared out regularly. Somewhere little badger cubs were having a great game of footy with it!
Hope that poor Millie gets a new ball very quick so she can forgive you!
You could always contact the local Fire Brigade and ask them if they`d like to have an exercise in recuing a ball from a tree, they could pretend its a cat
Failing that you`d probably find a local kid willing to climb the tree to find it, or gfet a big stick to hit the tree with
I doubt that Millie really hates, she just won`t talk to you til she gets another glow ball to play with in the dark

Don't tempt me Didn't contact the Fire Brigade, but rang husband who's at work on afters to see if he could assist. Contemplated returning with step ladders but too high and don't have a big ladder. Can you imagine, me walking through streets to field with a ladder and getting stopped en route by police thinking I'm about to commit a burglary. They would never believe me if I told them real reason. Put it this way if it was me who stopped someone I wouldn't believe them.
Might return with a clothes prop from a neighbour tomorrow, but definitely praying for speedy new balls (I've ordered THREE)

Oh dear! Your throwing abilities sound a bit like mine - the only difference is i Dont so my Millie isnt looking up into a tree hopefully. Just maybe the wind will blow a bit through the night and by morning it will have fallen down, but that means you better be early coz if some other little b####r finds it first Millie may hate you all over again!
Good luck with that {im giggling over this as i can just picture the look on Your face And Hers]
