Jules, great advice, and I have only just read it after treturning from the mid-day wander around the building at work.

Today I have already employed lots of 'good-girls' and 'good dogs' and a pocketfull of treats to keep her interested in me and the walk. I also took her on the longer (training) lead so I can give her a bit more distance to have a smell and root about.

This seems to have worked and so certainly doesn't seem scared of stuff - more she is interested in so much else that is going on she's not concentrating.

Bless her I know she's a baby...I guess I am a bit too much of a 'Victorian Dad'...

I had a good laugh at this post, not at you but just so glad someone else is having the same problems! Gus is 15 weeks and we have a 5min route and he does exactly the same just puts his bum down and thats it! The other day he took to even turning around and putting his bum down in my direction and didn't even flick his ear at the sound of his name! Just takes a lot of patience! Some times treats work I hold it out infront of him so he has to get off his bum to get it! Tho I like the idea of the squeeky toy, I'll try that tonight!! Smile

I am also glad someone else is getting the exact same thing too. Yesterday it was like there were four (well five) deep gouge marks along the ground caused by her paws and her bum digging in to stop her moving...

Today, as I say, she's much better and I have also tried holding a treat in my hand as I walk along...this kept her interested!

Been there, done that got over it with treats - but still looks for piece of kibble before walking uphill, quite hilly here so get a few pitiful looks (obviously can't get up there without some little thing) the hard doneby woof is wellover a year now and life is soooo hard.

I was just wondering how Mahsa is getting on?

Since reading this post my lovely bundle of joy has turned into a stubborn donkey! Won't respond to high pitch noises, praise or treats! Just puts his bum on the floor and thats it, even tried to pull him a little and he fell up the curb he was trying so hard not to walk!!

Well I'm no help I'm afraid if waiting, being interesting and dancing about, walking with others and getting him to run after them, treats, squeeky toys wouldn't work then I ended up just picking him up and carrying him! Embarassed I'm sure someone more experienced will be along with some further hints and tips for you to try soon. Smile

Mahsa still has her moments, more at work than when walking at home. It certainly seems like she's scared more than anything else. I took her out last night and we ended up in a very dark part of the estate. It soon became clear she was quite scared and cold.

We went out this afternoon here at home and she had a lovely time running about - I even let her off the lead for a short while when we were in a very safe place to do so.

She has her moments, but praise, treats and a bit of encouragement gets us round!

My Alfie still has times when he won't move, he will be 5 in April! He is a great big lump too so if he doesn't want to go thats that!
