I completely missed that she was such a youngster, sorry It is a ridiculous clause to put in for young dogs

I have Zak and Brodie insured with Help u Cover which used to be vets 2 pets. Monthly cost for Zak is £47 for Brodie its £33 this gives me £7000 per illness per year for each dog, with an excess of £70 for Zak and £80 for Brodie, up to £250 then its 15% of the total vet bill.
They are fantastic for paying out, and really helpfull if you need to contact them, with an emergency vet nurse on call 24/7. They will also cover "alternative" treatment as long as it on referral from your vet.
Zak is on thyriod tablets diagnosed in this policy year which ends in March so befor he has his blood tests tomorrow I am gonna ring them to let them know i am going to order enough to last me until after March 2013 because I'm already way past the £250 so far this year so that will save me money on the excess costs, they actually advised me to do this when Casey (last dane) was on medication for prancreatitus and they also pay for any special diets needed for 6 months if I remember rightly.
I've been insured with them for 11 years and no complaints whatsoever

Went onto the Which? site and Hastings came tops at 82% so I checked out their policies and their Hastings pet Premier Life £6000 offers £6000 per condition per year £75.00 Excess per condition per year (not too bad) Total montly cost £36.74 which compared to More than who I have been with for 4 or 5 years £70.10/mth!! I also looked at Green Insurance - which had good review on Which and was V similar to Hastings (slightly more) but when I looked at the Review sites they were absolutly hammered!
If anyone has used Hastings direct would love to hear from them
Cheers

We have had both ours through sainsburys over the last 2 & 3 yrs with the last 2 yrs of claims through Lux and theirs is a lifetime cover! It starts anew every yr for all claims! and they have been faultless when it com es to paying out, although saying that they have said that they are very pleased that I have gone for the none op option I prefer the " try more natural remedies first type thing" rarther than any op will do!
So not sure how they would have been if wed have to had have the big op then continued treatments

I will vouch for Help u Cover, I have Mischa with them, they have been great so far, But their quote for the other older dogs was not affordable for me, so getting them signed up from pup is good idea, their premium rises each year are reasonable.
It is very difficult finding what suits you, good luck.
