wow you guys are great!!! i love the idea of bowtie/ tiaras.... i'll mention it to her will also pass on all links. She is going to crufts so will be looking there but its nice to have an idea of what to look for.
I love the idea of the dogs joining in but its in a hotel/function place (its stunning) and the dogs are there for the duration which is fine but they're typical flatcoats so it will be all good fun as us bridesmaids are in charge of the dogs during the ceremony
I have visions of either being dragged up the aisle on my front clunching the lead tripping on my dress and the dog thinking its one huge game infront of everyone or maybe just maybe *crosses fingers* all goes well I'm very clumsy though so i've asked for her carmest dog but we'll see
What about cream/ivory bow ties for the boys and a cream/ivory bow or flowers for the girls. The lead could be a plait of cream and burgundy and bows/bow ties could even be home made with a base of lighter ribbon with a thinner burgundy ribbon on top so that you get both colours but the darker one is bordered by the lighter one.
If they wore harnesses these could be trimmed more easily with accessories (ribbons, flowers or whatever).
It's a good job Coco isn't going to a wedding, she would no doubt jump up at the bride and get mucky paw prints all over her.
Keeping a sneaky eye on this thread! My brother's fiance seems to be rather taken by the idea of Loon and Tuck attending their wedding over in Italy at some point in the future EEEEEEEK!!
Are the bridesmaid dresses being made or bought ready made? If they are being made then you could get strips of the fabric (or even go into a haberdashery store and get braiding/webbing in the right tone) to work onto existing leads (ie ones you know will hold the dogs if they pull etc!)
what about getting in touch with pup-id? she does small collars in allsorts of beautiful colours - I bet she wouldnt mind doing something a bit bigger in the appropriate colours?
her collars are reasonably priced I think!

Take a look at lilylobster.com. We would be delighted to make something gorgeous for your dogs and, as it would be our first WEDDING commission, we would be happy to do a special price for you
When my brother got married in 1993, my daughter was a bridesmaid and was only four at the time. I made her dress so had access to the fabrics. I made his dog (black lab, of course) a fancy collar which his ordinary collar threaded through. It was pale green and stunned everybody. He was a really handsome dog anyway, and to have the matching outfit with the bridesmaids was the perfect finishing touch. He waited at the church gate for them, and then sat in a car during the ceremony, and came out for the photo session in the gardens next to the church.
