Thankyou everyone. It was very shocking and upsetting. The vet kind of had a list of maybe's but i suppose without the investigations after we will never know. I just wondered if anyone else had experianced anything simular?
We did everything for him until he was PTS as the vet said they couldnt move quick enough and he deteriated too quick. He was treated for all obvious things. ie. fits stroke meningitus etc. but nothing worked.
I just dont want to witness anything like that again.
Thanks again for all your kind comments.

It is only natural to want some sort of explanation when something like this happens, but the truth is you will never truly know why Bono went the way he did. We could all speculate on the reasons why, but they would all be guesses.
I've had a couple of older animals go downhill very quickly and suddenly. One of which was fine and eating one minute and in under an hour he became paralysed and died in my arms as I was getting him ready to go to the vets. It is bad enough when they are elderly, but for it to happen to a younger animal, it must be a dreadful shock.
Try not to beat yourself up, you did all you could do. It's not much of a consolation, but at least for Bono, his end was swift and with very little suffering.
