OK Guys firstly thank you all for the responses, dont worry I have thick skin and I put up with abuse all day in my job so why should I come to expect anymore when I'm Home. Ok let me clear this up Yes I have never breeded before and yes we now have a litter of Pups who believe me are being cared for and loved by a lot more people than most "know it all breeders" pups would ever get. they are being raised in our home with love and believe me they are not going anywhere apart from loving homes. We did try to keep the 2 dogs seperate during season but they obviously tied. Ok and before you say anything else she was not spayed as we were hoping top mate them both next year and yes I have researched all the mating business i have spent a small fortune on whelping kits, whelping box,new towels blenders, and anything else that can be purchased to care for pups (oh did i mention a "breeder" then informed me "hey you didnt need all that stuff shoulda used a washing machine box and old blankets) Anyway I dont need a lecture Just was asking for assistance and hell if anyone has any advice that be great too. Finally, My partner works at the DAC formerly the RAVC and we are luck enough to be able to take our pets to the vets on camp at any time night or day (he even came out several times to our home during Baileys pregnancy to check her for us) They are fully vaccinated, Flead, and wormed regularly, microchipped and have been health checked more times than ever neccesary.
Again, I thank you all for your criticism but come on guys dont judge me you dont know me
Oh and should anyone want to come to my home, with superbly large garden and pool (yes they swim too) to visit the pups and check there welfare for yourself dropm me a message your welcome anytime!!!
I hope you'll sell pups under contract, so that the situation Helen describes doesn't happen? I'm sure the KC website will have one on there, or if you google one may come up.
Your initial post did seem a little haphazard about the whole thing, which is possibly why you've received a couple of frosty responses. If *we* didn't care, surely that would be more offensive, so at least from those frosty responses, you can hopefully see it's actually because of real concern for all Labradors.
It is worrying that when breeding you don't seem to be aware of the pedigrees, this is something I've researched for my dogs for as long as I've owned them, and have looked at the health test results at least as far back as the fifth generation. If you're not aware of the pedigrees of your dogs, the mating may not be the best available for what you want. Apologies if that sounds harsh, it isn't meant to be at all, we all have to start somewhere and learn, unfortunately the emphasis seems to be on the starting and not the learning much of the time. When I look back to when I brought home my first Labrador, Indie, I realise just how little I knew in comparison to now
Again, I thank you all for your criticism but come on guys dont judge me you dont know me
There are certain facts which unfortunately speak for themselves not health-testing the parents (NOT health-checking - health-testing) - not knowing the pedigrees before breeding -
And as for charging £25 for something which costs just £13
