Hello all

Hope u are all well, newbie here!! Our Chocolate Lab Bailey Reg Name Kenine Mars Miracle has just (well on Xmas Eve) had a litter of 9 we are trying to track her parentage at the mo. On her reg certificate we have sire as Courtneys delight kennifer and dam as minstral galaxys princess. there is a registration number for them on the certificate but this has lead no where.

We brought our golden lab puppy born on 16-12-10 Jackson early last year. After getting out the papers for them both I am unsure on the parents of Jackson. It states parents to be Foulridge Golden Fella (sire) and Lucy Locket (dam)
Would be greatful if anyone can help finding baileys relatives

Bailey was born on 27/05/2009

This might help a bit:
Foulridge Golden Fella of Burwain
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/labrador_retriever/dog.html?id=6898 64
You can check health results here:http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services/public/mateselect/test/Default.aspx

I cant copy the direct link but it doesnt look as if he has had any health tests at all, but his parents have. Only some of his grandparents have been tested.

Lucy Locket appears on the KC database under the health screening, it says that only one side of her grandparents (so your Jackson's great grandparents) have been health tested at all. None of the others have even been hip scored.

What exactly do your papers say? Are you saying that your boy sired a litter when he wasnt even a year old? With those levels of untested histories, please tell me you had your dogs health tested before you bred them?

Think you might find that is her pedigree and that is her litter brother.

I would like to say though, that you will find that anyone on here that breeds their labrador ensures that their dogs have been health tested before breeding. It does look as if most of the background behind your dogs have not been given even the basic tests. This means that your pups are at a risk of developing crippling and debilitating health diseases during their lifetime. Are you prepared for the new owners of your pups to ring you up in a few years and return them because they cannot cope with the rising vets bills? The biggest diseases in Labs can be tested for which means that pups born are the best they can be.

You will also find that breeders on here have also made sure that things like tracing backgrounds are never needing to have been done as the dog has been chosen from birth to have had the best pedigree they can find with health tested parents and backgrounds.

Has your KC certificate got any restrictions against breeding? Are you wanting to register them?

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it doesnt sound as though a lot of preparation has gone into this litter and to want to find out relatives AFTER the pups have been born just makes me really sad (understatement)and I hope you find them all homes. Confused

I have replied on the other thread as I have found the full pedigree for the girl, however this sort of thread makes me so sad/cross/facepalm.

WHY dont people care enough to even put their dogs through even the most basic health tests before breeding? Or even research their background first?

Sadly There are now nine puppies here.

Perhaps if someone with breeding experience could come along and educate the o/p and advise what to do now.
If people just have ago, the o/p will most probably not return and this will not help the situation.

They aren't looking for advice from someone with breeding experience, according to both threads. They are simply looking to trace the parentage of their dog and bitch.

I know they are only looking for parentage, but they don't seem to have a clue what they are doing, and this could be the ideal opportunity to educate them.
Just getting the parents eyes checked before these puppies are rehomed would be a good idea.

IO really appreciate your response I do have the KC Certificate for bailey with both registered Sire & Dam on I just do not have the generation paper, was only seeing if anyone could help. Both Our Dogs have had several health checks as partner works at DAC and we are fortunate enough to be able to have them looked at by the Vet there. I am just trying to piece things together for my own interest as much as the new owners. Thank you for being harsh we may be new to this but by no means are we BYB and would never ever in a million years allow the puppies to go to anything other than a loving home

Thats All

Thanks
