Hi

I know all the basic things to get but there are so very many extra bits , so many adverts.

I just wondered if there was one thing that you have got that you think is money well spent. Maybe something you wish you had got sooner, or wish you had seen when your dog was a puppy.

Thanks

Vet bed to go in the crate. Get two or three bits, as then if the pup does have an accident, you always have another bit to hand to line the crate with.

A sturdy, heavy water bowl, as Lab pups do love a good paddle. Oh and a bucket and mop, to mop up after paddling pup, if you haven't already got one Laughing .

Things to avoid getting ..... PUPPY PADS. They are the work of the Devil Wink .

A Kong wobbler for when they are a little bigger! Keeps them occupied and stops them from wolfing their food down.

Make sure you get some little toys! The small Kong is a good one to start on! As it bouces, you can stuff it with treats and they can chew on it. (red one is fine) I went for the bigger durable stuff as I was thinking grown up lab as they shoot up so quickly but I ended up with nothing suitable for when we brought him home. Luckily my mum and mother-in-law bough us some tiny toys so all was good.

Definitely gets lots of bedding so you don't have to hunt around in the middle of the night. Vet bedding is excellent stuff!

Other than that everything is listed!

I'd agreewith a crate. And I bought a spare (Fabric) one from Amazon yesterday - they are on half price sale. I got a big crate for just £30.

Bargain!

(I am NOT in the pay of Amazon btw!)

Talking of amazon, I'm getting my crate from there but also need some vet bedding too. They sell it on amazon but does anyone know anywhere cheaper or better?

I would definitely get a kong and some sort of treats to go inside, even if you just use the biscuits he'd usually eat for breakfast/dinner (we measure out his daily allowance and put some of that in the kong so he doesn't get overfed). You can get kong treats but I think they're quite expensive for what they are.

Seb loves his rawhide bone and he gets it while we're busy making dinner etc. as it keeps him quite and out of the way (sometimes).

A clicker (and more biscuits) have proved useful for training too.
