We have noticed over the last few months or so, our lab Bridie, when sitting in front of the woodburner or chilling on the hearthrug, suddenly looks up at the wall behind and above me. She is absolutely fixated, if I am stroking her etc she will also look up to the same spot wide eyed and somewhat spooky.
There is absolutely nothing there, we have even lain on the rug ourselves to look!
What on earth is she looking at? does anyone else have a pooch that does this slightly unnerving thing?
Heather

CJ doesn`t do it Heather but one of my cats does and always when I`m in bed, he`ll be sitting with me having a fuss and suddenly look up at the wall behind my head, once or twice there`s been a spider or a fly but most times I see nothing at all yet he won`t be disauded from looking, tis a little worrying but nothings happened as yet so I don`t bother about it Smile

Milo did it once when I first got him. I have two sofas on opposite sides of the lounge. One day I was sitting on one sofa watching TV with Milo when all of a sudden he stared at the other sofa and growled then barked! Shocked Shocked It freaked me out totally!! He just wouldn't stop barking! I then (now people will think I'm totally dotty when I tell you what I did next! Rolling Eyes ) said "It's nice whoever you are to come and visit, but as you can see he doesn't like it. So if you wouldn't mind, can you please go?" He then followed something across the room with his eyes/head as though something was going out the front door!!He then stopped barking/growling! Shocked Shocked Shocked
It's funny that it's not happened since!! Rolling Eyes

Millie does this, she usually looks straight ahead. I like to think my girls are popping in from Rainbow Bridge to make sure we are all OK.
I have also heard the sound of dogs walking on the kitchen floor when mine have been in another room. Confused

I have heard a cat purring when I am in bed and I am sure it is our wonderful cat that sadly passed away last spring visiting us, makes me very sad but also sort of nice that he chose to visit ( my very special boy Wink Crying or Very sad )

Yes, only once though. He was minding his own business then suddenly switched his gaze from me to over my left shoulder and growled. Then his eyes moved towards the door.

At first I thought GHOSTIES!!! AAAARGHGHGH.....but then thought "If he'd have seen a person standing behind me, he would have flipped big time....not just a mini growl"

So I put it down to a daddy long legs or something. Shame, it'd be nice to have confirmation that everyone on the other side really are on the other side Shocked
