Have loved reading these posts about taking dogs into work. Although I am fortunate enough to work for myself and have been able to take my little Bentley in with me everyday since he was 8 weeks old (he's still only 4 months!) I really think that there are a LOT of employers out there that COULD allow well behaved pets into the workplace but choose not too.
Insurance doesn't really make much of a difference and I think that is just an excuse. It would be great if some kind of awareness could be made to employers that a dog can actually benefit the working environment. I'm not saying dogs are suitable in all workplaces but there is a definite advantage.
Since I've been taking our pup into work it has certainly changed the dynamics (although we have lovely staff anyway!). It's almost like little Bentley has an extended family now. He loves coming in and never knows what adventure he will be on with who! He has a crate but also has about 3 other little beds dotted around so he can choose who he's going to flop down next to and whose shoes he might nibble etc.
