okay thanks, they both sleep together at present in the same kennel, they are bothers from the same litter.

Okay so i need to start taking them out on there own! interesting we got the two to they had company.

at present they have the back garden to run around in as waiting for my fencer to come and erect the run which they will be sharing.

when we walk out the back field they walk behind me, if they do stray off i whilst and them come back to me.

THis is the first time for me having any type of dog, and double trouble getting two of them.

THanks and appreciate all the advice you are giving,

You can say that again - a lot of breeders won't home two pups with the same family and certainly not to an inexperienced dog owner

I haven't experienced having 2 puppies at the same time, but at 5 months I would expect both of them to still be fairly receptive to you and your commands. The problems are likely to start when they hit 6+ months when they become much more independant and will require regular reinforcement of their puppy training. Bella is coming up to 9 months (1 week away) and the difference in her between 6 and 9 months is astonishing.

At 6 months she wouldn't let me out of her sight for a second, at 8 months she is happy for me to disappear from view for a few seconds, and her recall is not as good as it used to be

I am a first time puppy owner and don't believe for a minute that just because your boys listen to you now that they will still listen to you in 2 months time. Bella is very much a one person dog and "mummy's" girl, but even she is still happy to ignore me if something else more interesting comes along Smile

Some dogs need to go right back to basics when they hit adolescence, in my experience, boys much moreso than girls.

My youngest (15 months) boy is a lovely - probably the most laid back of all my gang, but even he has been through some 'naughty' phases the last couple of months (although compared to the rest of them, he's still an angel most of the time Rolling Eyes )

sherlock18, im also raising littermates a boy and a girl who are now just over 4 months old and i adore them but the downside is that you will have a huge number of people against you so be prepared for a lot on neg about your boys, i attend puppy training with mine one at a time even then my trainer struggles to even speak to me as she disaproves with siblings. i walk mine one to one, play one to one, and each day they will have a special outing one to one leaving the other crated it is good for them, good luck and enjoy them
