I think my 13 month old labrador is about right weight wise, at least that's what everybody tells me. He is an average sized working/show bred labrador, so a mix of the two and about medium build. I don't know what he weighs but he does have a covering of flesh over his ribs. I would hate to have a dog too thin and I like to see my dogs eating with pleasure so I know what you mean about worrying if they leave their food.
My boy has 110 gm of James Wellbeloved turkey and rice kibble plus 1/2 a pack of chicken NatureDiet (a quality wet food) morning and evening. He also has a bonio or two plus a very few morsels of left overs most days at lunch time. Today he got some of our roast (as did little old terrier) with his kibble in the evening instead of the naturediet and he loved this.
He would eat 10 times what I feed him if allowed but I also don't want him to get overweight! It's a hard business getting it all right enough in my opinion.

This is what you currently feed analysis. you need to find a higher fat and protein balance which would not be difficult.
Moisture 80.50%
Protein 6.50%
Fat content 3.50%
Crude ash 2.50%
Crude fibres 0..25%
