He does look like a lab to me and a lovely one at that but if you want to be certain you can buy a test on amazon called wisdom panel http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisdom-Panel-Insights-Mixed-Breed/dp/B003C0PH26/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326057750&sr= 8-1 its only a swab inside his mouth nothing invasive or horrible no blood or anything required.

He looks all lab to me. his 'pureness' would only really be confirmed by a KC registration and lineage to be honest.

I imagine people says he's not all lab because of his white chest spot - people seem to think they know it all Rolling Eyes
I get it lots too because my Basil (in my siggy) has a white flash too, he is 100% lab.

The breed standard actually states 'small white spot on chest permissable' (paraphrased, the wording might vary a little!)

Hes gorgeous,lab or not but he looks all lab to me.My Ted is black but in some lights he looks like he has a chocolate tint.Anyway hes lovely,enjoy him xx

My pure-bred lab has a white diamond on his chest. Although I think he is a beautiful boy I don't think he has such a lovely face as your labrador.

How great that your dad finally gave in and let you have a dog.

some yellow labs also have a white flash but by the virtue of being yellow it isnt noticed by people in the same as way as on black labs.

he looks like a labby to me.
