Peppa gave blood for the Pet Blood Bank this morning. We went to North West Surgeons where Snowie is a longterm medical patient and where Jayne's Millie mops is currently an in-patient.
I arrived early (yes, I know it doesn't make sense), and my neighbour's daughter was waiting with a few other staff of NWS. I got Peppa out of the car so she could familiarise herself with the place, and as usual she was overexuberant about greeting everyone and seeing what was what. I'm sure she could smell Millie round the reception area where the orthopaedic patients often come as part of their physio every few hours. The Blood Bank vet did the necessary checks, and I signed the paperwork and there were some doubts raised as to whether she'd be able to lie still for donating , but when it came to it, she was good as gold for long enough. She was then treated to a bowl of Chappie, more treats and a long slurp of water. She came home with a tag for her collar, a new toy, and a very proud mum Her photo was taken and should be on NWS website and the Pet Blood Bank FB page in due course. I'll let you know when it's there.
We expect her to be able to do this every 3 or 4 months from now on, so long as she remains fit and healthy. WELL DONE PEPPA. MUMMY IS VERY PROUD OF YOU.

How lovely and well done!!!! Peppa is obviously a very good girl. Amber gave blood for Arwen when we found that she had cancer on her spleen which ruptured and she had lost lots of blood. Unfortunately Amber was not such a good girl, would not sit, and had to be sedated to allow the vet to take the blood.
