Poor little babe. I know of a choccie lab in our village who had open heart surgery (I don't know what the reason was but think it was a murmur or similar) at only a few weeks of age and she (Coco) is about 5 now and fit as a fiddle. I hope the operation on Rufus goes really well and he recovers very soon.
What a good job you have such an insistent vet too

I hope his operation goes well.
Did you get any further with the insurance company? I hope they come good for you.

Oh how awful. I have no experience of heart murmurs but hopefully as he has been diagnosed early his operation will be a huge success. Will keep looking for your updates. It must be a worrying time for you, but you will get no end of support from LF

So sorry that you are all facing all of this worry. Sending lots and lots of good thoughts for your boy's operation and hoping very much that he makes an excellent recovery and has a long, happy and healthy life ahead of him. Thank goodness he found himself in such loving hands

So difficult when your faced with such a difficult issue
I think everyone on LF had hoped that this would be one of those things that goes away but sadly this was not the case on this occasion.
Please let us know how Rufus gets on , sending some , hope all goes well with the op vibes >>>>>>>>>>
