Id like to start by thanking everyone who replied to my first post.
we took rufus for his first jabs at the vets and were told he had a heart murmur and needed to see a specialist to have tests we heard that murmurs can clear up as a pup gets older so were worried as wether to have the tests at a cost of nearly £500 or wait a little to see if it cleared up. On taking rufus back for his second jab the vet told us the murmur was much louder and she couldn't stress how important it was for us to get a full diagnosis. Rufus had the tests on 30th dec and we were told the extent of his problem. He has severe valvular pulmonic stenosis and needs a balloon valvuloplasty operation asap. If we hadn't had the tests and not found out what was wrong, rufus would be highly unlikely to have lived past the next few months. He is already in heart failure and now on medication until his op in a weeks time. His murmur went for a grade 3 to grade 6 in two weeks. We are so pleased our vet took such quick action. Murmurs more often then not clear naturally but in some cases its far worse then expected and know that if i ever find myself in a simular situation again i would have the tests so we know exactly what is going on.

Im so sorry it got worse rather than better but well done for going ahead and getting a poper diagnosis. Fingers crossed he bounces back quickly after his op and goes on to be a normal pup again full of mischief.
