We have recently bought a (new to us) 02 reg Nissan Primera Estate - the cheapest new tailgate guard I can find is 199 + charges for the locks Shocked

I have looked on e bay & agility net etc but I can't find a second hand one. Any ideas where else I may find one?

The girls will have a guard on the back seats and also be harnessed in but I'd like a tailgate guard too for safety and also for when we're out and about, on a nice day, we can pop them back in the car and leave the boot open if we're having a picnic or something. Also will come in handy when camping - which....brings me on to my next point...

Recommendations for tents please. For me DH and the two girls. I can't keep borrowing poor Sarah's (dirtychicken) Laughing Laughing

Not a clue about tailgate guards but tents:

we have a Vango Icarus 600 which is very nice they also do a 500 which is a little bit smaller, both have a canopy you can buy as an extra which extends the area outside which I would recommend.

The outwell tents are very nice but can be a bit more expensive.

Do you have a go outdoors near you? as they often have tents on display which can give you a good idea of what sort of size they are and the layout you think would work for you. You could then look to see if you can get it any cheaper online if you wanted.

Thanks Lauren. We do have a Go Outdoors in Southampton. Maybe we'll take a trip over (and double it up with a visit to Margaret/Tara Very Happy )

xx

I think MMG are a tiny bit cheaper than that - £190 including locks for the one I want Rolling Eyes I can't live without one... and it takes them 6 weeks to make. AHHHHH!! I've not found anywhere other than agilitynet for second hand ones.

ETA - unless MMG don't include locks as standard! I thought they did but now I'm not sure..

It was MMG that quoted me £195 plus £15 for locks Rolling Eyes

I know I'll end up ordering a new one if I can't find one secondhand (which isn't looking very promising at the moment Rolling Eyes )

ouch... what cheeky so-and-sos! This makes me think about barjo then because they seem quicker to get them made, and you just have to add padlocks.

I have several tents but my favourite is my hi-gear corado 4.

It's a very good size with a porch area ideal for wet dogs, we also bought an extra porch section which doubles the covered area outside which is great. It has windows on all sides to allow loads of light in if required. The only down size is the weight, it has steel poles which make it really sturdy in bad weather but quite heavy to carry about.

I got mine in southampton go outdoors and they had it set up so i could check out the zips etc before i bought it. Well worth a look, it's perfect for me, OH and our 2 labs but if you need bigger they do a 6 or 8 man version as well.

I phoned MMG in a complete panic as when I changed my car I had forgotten about a flyball comp within I think it was 4 weeks..... they zoomed the order through for me and I was able to get it installed for the dogs to have the back open at the tournament.

They sometimes have second hand ones - otherwise worth googling second hand car parts and putting a request in with the breakers yards for a price ie http://www.1stchoice.co.uk/cars/nissan/tailgate

I didn't go with locks inc as I was worried about loosing the keys so I just use a padlock when I need to. Not sure how straight the back of your car is but I got a split door so like a stable door as mine is so sloped. It's fab as can open top and put leads on without any escapers lol
