I've never weighed it before, but now I feel really mean!

They were getting about 130g in the morning and the same in the evening, but it's now about 110g! Poor things.

They should both be about 25kg, so the are not big girls. They aren't really overweight, but I have noticed the weight creeping on and don't want them to become overweight.

Wafcol salmon is slightly lower in fat than F4D, they also do a light version. What about just reducing the quantities of Fish4dogs?

I shouldn't worry about that, Ruby only gets 220gms per day and is fine, I think with good quality foods you don't need to feed as much.

Definitely just cut it a bit. Are either of them speyed? They need much less it seems when they are. My oldie here that is speyed and not working gets about one third of what the others get! If they are indoors and not working they really have minimum requirements in the 'fuel' department.

Poor old Luna can manage to gain weight on only 140-160g of Skinners Salmon + a Kong of cottage cheese/yoghurt or similar and a few biscuit treats + corners of sandwiches + a couple of small rawhide twists a day!

Don't worry about cutting back!

Tucker eats a lot more and still loses weight after a busy week so I'd say feed to the dog and don't worry about what you 'should' be feeding!

After reading how much some of you feed your dogs, I have decided to stick with fish4dogs and simply feed much less. Molly is predominately show lines, but not large, her ideal weight it 29kg and I think we are a couple of kg over at the moment. This is partly due to lack of exercise while she is in season and the shorter walks due to the pup only being 4 months. Unfortunately time does not permit separate walks!!

She also has a kong or 2 during the day, when Ebony gets one to keep her amused. I fill mine with either home cooked chicken and vegetables all pureed together and then frozen or with fish and vegetables. I do take into account the extra calories when feeding her.

As I said before everything else is perfect, in my eyes Very Happy

I feed my 7 month old fish4dogs and i think he is roughly somewhere between 20-25kg, need to get him weighed again soon. He is currently on 205g/meal so 410g a day, but it will soon be lowered as he starts to get older. I have found with him that 5g over can make a big difference! So when my husband upped his food by 20g/meal without telling me I could tell as he suddenly started to loose his definition. I only change his food when his appearance changes, if he starts to get a bit skinny I up it in 5g increments till he stops loosing weight and vise versa. We give our George a whoppa a day for his teeth and various tiddlers and super stars as training treats so I have his food quite a bit lower than what the feeding guide says (I think he is supposed to be on 220-240g per meal according to the guide). He also gets half a carrot a day and occasionally an apple.

As long as your dogs are happy and healthy I wouldn't change the food. As fish4dogs is a good food you won't need to feed them as much.

I do wish it was cheaper but I do like it.

Having bred a litter, I can get fish4dogs at breeder prices. They have got a 10% discount sale online at the moment. Every little helps!!
