Anyone else's dogs not like them?
I bought my girls one for Christmas, thinking they could all hang onto a bit as they ran along, but none of them seem to like the mouth feel of it. Pickle is the only one who'll pick it up and fetch it, but even she will only play with it as a Last Resort toy.
I'm thinking of covering it in fleece or fur to make it more appealing. Has anyone else tried this?
Knowing Lottie, she wouldn't like it either.I've never seen one round here...are they rubbery? Lottie is the only dog ever that doesn't like a Zippy bed (toooo noisy mum!!)
What about wrapping some of the vet bandage stuff which is sticky.(the name escapes me but I know you know what I mean Jules) It might stay on better than fleece or fur!
None of my three like our one either. I bought it at Crufts and wish I hadn't bothered!! They don't play with the Tuffy crocodile either - another expensive toy!!
Max likes it for about 2 minutes but still prefers to run about with a tree branch
That is so funny.I almost suggested to Jules that she shred some bark off a tree trunk and stick that on it but decided it was far toooo stupid an idea!!
If you need to rehome it Jules then there are three boys here who are still mourning the loss of theirs! The dog walker took it out one day and it got dropped in a very deep puddle that seems to have sucked it in to the earth!
Mine honestly thought it was the best thing since sliced loaf and regularly could be seen running three a breast looking very pleased with themselves!

The bandage sounds like a good idea, although it may get a big gungy with dirt adhering to the sticky bit.
The only thing my dogs like better than sticks (which they are rarely allowed as Barney had a nasty stick injury when young) is an empty 1/2 litre fizzy drink bottle with the top on. They absolutely love retrieving one of these from water and they are cheap and easy to replace and I can stick one in my pocket when we head off for a walk.

Vetwrap. Now that IS a good idea and I have some in the meds cupoard . I'll give that a go first and if they still don't like it, I'll post it up to Fee's boys.
And yes, it is sort of rubbery and slippery (and it gets very slimy to throw...yuck). I've never bought a Zippy bed because I just know none of mine would lay in something which makes any sort of noise. Flippin' fussy Girls .
We lost ours when it was thrown into water while my Luna RETRIEVER was resting and it drifted away.....
We were discussing today at the GT how low in the water they sit when thrown - the dogs were even swimming over it without seeming to notice it!
Luna and Tucker used to love running around together with theirs - I bought it for the day we drove down to meet Tucker and they immediately dragged each other around with it! It withstood a lot of Tucker chewing too. I will buy them a replacement at some point!
