Thanks everyone - that's really helpfull, lots to think about.

Interesting about protein - you hear so much about it, usually in terms of levels being higher than necessary, it gets confusing.

Where cost is concerned, our priority is to give him the best we can within a reasonable budget so we wouldn't mind "upping" it a bit, but the point a few of you make about him perhaps feeling less satisfied on a smaller volume/better quality food is important too. We know when he's ready for food, but he doesn't whine or pest for it at the moment.

I guess it partly comes down to having the confidence to look at him and say he looks just fine, without hitting worry mode and digging around on the net for a "perfect" that probably doesn't exist.

Thanks again x

We feed all three of ours Orijen now and honestly there is no difference in their temperament between this food and ANY other food they have been on! No more or less bouncy than they ever have been.

I feed them varying amounts of food as they all have different requirements. Zephyr the youngest weighs 24kg just now and is fed in the region of 400g a day (trying to fill him out). Pasco weighs 23kg and gets slightly less than him by maybe 20g or so (trying to maintain him) and Hudson who is 25/26kg gets about 280g a day as he is NO where near as active as the others and puts weight on very easily.
