thanks Laura, it wasn't those glands either side... it was his actual willy pink bit that was out and had swollen and got stuck like the foreskin was too tight to let it slide back
Just sticking all the Boy dog info in the same place but thanks for the graphic clarification!!

Sorry Laura, i was just making sure you understood the problem i've suffered this evening i honestly never thought i would.... errrr.... handle a dogs bits i feel quite traumatised and felt the need to share all the graphic info
Gary... you are hillarious, i've laughed so much. Billy is now sleeping and all seems well in the boy bits department but i have a newspaper and imaginary flies to kill incase necessary
Thanks so much... i did PM Di, incase Billy was a one off and no one else had suffered as i thought she's bound to know but i'm happy that this isn't such an unusual problem afterall
Just want to say, if Billy has this problem too regularly it might require a visit to the vet.
Tyson had a spate of these do's in a short period of time and you could tell it was painful. the vet gave him an injection of something that worked for about 3 months.
after this i managed to control the few do's he had with the fly swat game.
I think there has been a few cases where the end wouldn't retract and blood stayed trapped in the end, therefore needing syringing by the vet to release the pressure and pain.
This is unlikely to happen to Billy, but something to be aware of.
I have just googled the problem and there are people who's dogs really suffered with this and eventually castration was their only cure.
Hope Billy keeps his.
G and T.
Like Jules - can I just say thank you for the most entertaining thread in an age Glad Billy is back in place (with your able assistance, Lacey) and hope for no recurrences.
"Red rocket.
Indy is very proud of his red rocket/pink lipstick (as I’m sure that most men are!) and gets it out at every opportunity (when he sits, lies, stands, meets people…. Really - *every* opportunity!). Sometimes it’s out for such a long time that it dries a bit and it’s difficult to “rehouse” and takes a lot of very loud slurping! It’s particularly bad in dusty/sandy places (ouch!!) and can be quite embarrassing when we have to stop half way round an agility course for him to adjust himself! Please tell me that it’s not just Indy with this problem? "
I think some mentioned applying vaseline - but I decided that that was waaaay beyond the call of duty!
It's funny what we get used to - Millie is my first ever girl and I had to get someone to check that her nipples were normal!
