... Diana of Wylanbriar Labradors for the willing and sound advice she gave to me over the phone regarding my friends brand new pups and their poorly mum, after I received a panic phone call on Christmas Eve.
Diana's support resulted in the avoidance of unnesseccary, large and overly costly surgery for the mum and reuniting her with her precious babies so she could feed and bond with them. And this all over a very stressfull Christmas where Di's support and advice was freely available. I have never even met Diana.
I received a lovely text from my friends saying, thank goodness Tracey knows about the lab forum. So here is a reminder of some very knowledgable and giving people here on LF.
Mum and all 8 babies are doing very well and in a few days time I will hopefully get to squish the puppies and have a cuddle.
Hope you and your four legged friends all had a great Christmas x

The situation at the time was quite desperate and my friends had all but lost trust in the vets practice and did not know what to do next. They phoned me because of my 'human nursing knowledge'. Being way out of my doggy depth, Diana sprung to mind .
I am in no way saying one should disregard their veterinary advice, but this practice has let them down twice before.
I initially felt intrusive phoning Di out of the blue on Christmas Eve, but she was brilliant and even said I could phone her on Christmas Day if further help was needed.
Thankfully this was not the case and my friends were able to enjoy their Christmas with their mum steadily improving and her thriving pups who were delighted to be snuggled up with her again.
Well done Di. I know she has helped many out on here, many times before, including me. I have found her to be very helpful, knowledgable and always willing to help. She's a caring person who has been breeding, working showing labs for 25 years. She isn't going to know everything, but she does know a he*k of a lot.
Budmeister. Glad to hear Mum and pups are doing well.
I would like to echo your thanks to Di, as there have been numerous occasions when I have drawn her attention to threads about overly-young puppies having been brought home by inexperienced owners, and these owners have asked for help.
Di has ALWAYS responded with sound and NON-JUDGMENTAL advice. I would like my thanks to Diana to be put on record for this.
