Feather came to me from Many Tears on 31st July 2006. She was the most terribly shy ex-breeding bitch you could imagine. This year she has made giant leaps towards 'normality', coming out of my caravan to trot over to me in a group 20 yards away and sometimes lying down for a snooze in the sun.
Yesterday evening we went for a walk round the block at my mother's. My eldest son had Peppa. My daughter had Jazz and Molly. And I had Snowie and Feather. They were all on leads the whole way, which is unusual as our normal walking habits are out through my back gate straight onto farming fields. No leads needed, although always in my pockets. During this walk we were passed by a few people which pleased Peppa and Jazz. Feather and Snowie would stop to let these people past, which was fine as the paths were a bit narrow in places. Feather then sniffed the verges and the occasional lamp-post, instead of looking nervously around all the time. I couldn't believe it. My beautiful Feather acting much like a pet dog, and not the quivering wreck she has been in the past. I'm wondering if she'll soon be up for a day GT, albeit on lead the whole time.
Go, Feather, go.
