In this week's Spectator Charles Moore writes " the interesting theory that the paws of all labradors smell of popcorn....canine experts suggest that this property is unique to the breed. No one knows why".

there was something similar a while ago about boxers - can't remember what the smell was meant to be though......

the only time I sniff my lot's paws is to find out who trod in **** (unless there are pawprints when the size gives it away)

have to say that Tiber decided that as i was smelling his paws, he was allowed to smell my hair, click my ear, lick my nose, face and then use my head as a pillow...
