A long shot...
My friend found an emaciated yellow boy (neutered) when walking in Royden park. No owners to be found He has a cough and is extremely skinny and very long nails so possibly been stray for a while. He was wearing a brown half choke collar with no tag. (waiting to see if he is chipped)
He is very friendly to people and her other Lab and obviously has some training - paw, sit etc.
Bless him, it's so cold out there now as well. Your friend has done well to catch him as often is the case that the long term strays lose all faith in people as well.
Let's hope he's chipped and the owners get re-united. Unfortunately not all tagged dogs get this outcome as people move and do not update the tags. It will be worth checking on dogs lost as well. Please keep us updated. I assume he has been taken in and is being cared for?

On Doglost there are 8 male yellow labs shown on the first of 9 pages of missing male labs..... and he could have been taken out of the area he was from and dumped after a while. Hopefully he can be reunited and make someone's Christmas (including his own) - I see he is registered on there as found.
aww poor boy so glad your friend has got him to safety, I really hope he and his owner can be reunited if he's lost or that he can be found a foster/home for Christmas otherwise.
has he been taken to the vets to be scanned for a microchip?
