First thanks for all the responses. I have a couple of questions if you can help. Firstly what is a BARF diet Sounds horrible but I'm sure its not!
Secondly, our insurance is up for renewal and even without the diagnosis having gone through our cover has gone up £10 a month Who does everyone else use as I am going to phone round for quotes. Thanks
Gillian

DON'T CHANGE INSURERS!!!!!!
Now your boy has a diagnosis of ED any further procedures/xrays/med for those elbows will not be paid by a new insurer as it was a pre-existing condition!!!!
I had Luna covered on an awful policy due to being overseas and although I knew that switching insurers on our return to the UK would make elbows a pre-existing condition we decided at the time that it still made sense to switch so that cover for everything else was improved. I am waiting for the invoice to come through for Luna's recent specialist visits, meds, xray and arthroscopy... knowing it will make a big dent in my 'Luna Elbow Savings Fund'.
BARF is raw-meat feeding - have a search of the Diet and Nutrition section to find out more.
You've had some great advice from Jules and the others with regards to seeing a specialist etc.

I was going to say exactly the same. No new insurer will cover his elbows now, even though you haven't claimed yet.
BARF stands for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (or Bones and Raw Food). Basically, it's what dogs evolved to eat, before we came along and started feeding them processed food, full of stuff they would never have found and ate in the wild.
