took jack to the vet's last Thursday as I thought he had conjunctivitis, but it turned out to be an ulcer on his cornea. We've had to put cream in his eye 4-5 times a day and he's had to wear a buster collar to stop him scratching and rubbing it along the carpet Shocked

Good boy that he is, he has put up with all the treatments, (with a little help from treats), but I was worried in case it didn't heal.

Back to vet's tonight and got some good news, the ulcer is almost gone! There's still a way to go yet, but the relief is enormous Very Happy Going back on 23rd December, so fingers crossed he will be ok for Christmas.

I am so glad it is going down it must have been such a worry and Jack sounds like a real brave lad putting up with all that.

Having suffered with corneal ulcers on both eyes in the past i can say they are very very painful especially in a brightly light environment even daylight.

Glad he is over it with not to much of a drama, i feel for him i really do.

His eye is still red and itchy too, so I am going back tomorrow to collect some anti-inflammatory drops to put in in addition to the eye cream. The most difficult thing is to stop him scratching with his paw and rubbing along the carpet when we take the buster collar off for any reason.

Thank you, maybe this is one benefit to Jack being blind, in that the daylight/bright lights won't affect him.

Poor boy. Tucker loves to give himself a good old scratch along the carpet for no particular reason so goodness only know how he would cope with something like Jack's been suffering.

Hope that the anti-inflam drops can relieve some of the itchiness for him. We'll distract him with treats and fuss and swimming and retrieving on Sat! Very Happy Will he be ok to swim?
